You know you need life insurance but who wants to deal with invasive medical exams?
In our experience, one of the primary reasons people don’t buy life insurance is because they don’t want the hassle of a physical exam. Fortunately, whether you are looking for Term or Whole life policies, there are many companies who offer life insurance no medical exam options for their plans.
A medical exam usually means that a nurse will visit your home or office and conduct a mini health exam. They will ask a series of health questions, take your height and weight measurements, take a blood and urine sample or sometimes a saliva sample to check your current health status. They are looking for red flags such as high blood pressure or diabetes, or to uncover health issues you may not have disclosed in the life insurance application.
If you would like life insurance without medical exam but are willing to answer a few health questions, a “simplified-issue” or “non-medical” product is what you are looking for. Often these plans are a little more expensive than a “fully underwritten” or “medical” plan but for many people, a few extra dollars is worth the convenience of skipping the medical exam.
If you want a low-priced plan and want to skip the medical exam, contact an insurance broker that offers multiple plans and companies. Keep in mind, there are hundreds of life insurance companies out there. It’s impossible to research all of them. It’s best to find an experienced insurance agent/broker to help answer your questions and suggest the best, most reputable and cost effective companies.
